Post-Publication Discussion Policy

The Journal of Indonesian Comparative of Syari'ah Law (JICL) recognizes that scholarly evaluation may continue after an article has been published. The journal welcomes constructive, evidence-based academic discussion to support the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record.

1. Scope of Discussion

Post-publication discussion may address the interpretation of legal provisions, judicial decisions, legal doctrines, research methods, theoretical arguments, the accuracy of citations, the interpretation of findings, or other substantive issues concerning articles published by JICL.

2. Submission of Comments and Concerns

Readers, researchers, legal practitioners, and other members of the academic community may submit scholarly comments or concerns concerning a published article through the journal's official editorial contact channel or submission system.

Submissions should identify the article concerned, explain the issue clearly, and provide relevant evidence or references where appropriate. Submissions must be scholarly, respectful, and directly related to the published work.

3. Editorial Assessment

The editorial team will assess submissions for relevance, scholarly merit, supporting evidence, and compliance with publication ethics. The editor may seek independent expert advice where necessary.

Where appropriate, the authors of the original article may be invited to respond. Any decision to publish a comment or response will be made according to the journal's editorial standards and, where necessary, additional peer review.

4. Unacceptable Submissions

The journal may decline submissions that contain personal attacks, discriminatory language, unsupported accusations, defamatory content, promotional material, or content unrelated to the scholarly discussion of the published article.

Concerns involving possible research misconduct or serious errors will be handled through the journal's applicable publication ethics and research misconduct procedures.

5. Outcomes and Editorial Actions

Depending on the nature of the issue, the journal may publish a scholarly comment, an author's response, an editorial clarification, or a formal notice concerning the published article. If a concern indicates a possible error affecting the reliability of the article, the matter will be considered under JICL's Correction and Retraction Policy.

JICL aims to handle post-publication discussions fairly, impartially, and within a reasonable period. The journal will protect confidential information where appropriate and will not alter the scholarly record silently.

6. Relationship with Other Policies

This policy should be read together with JICL's Publication Ethics, Allegations of Research Misconduct, Conflict of Interest, and Correction and Retraction policies.
