Auhtorship Criteria

The Journal of Indonesian Comparative of Syari'ah Law (JICL) recognizes authorship based on substantial scholarly contributions to a manuscript and accountability for the integrity of the published work.

1. Authorship Eligibility

An individual may be listed as an author only if they have made a substantial intellectual contribution to the conception or design of the work, the collection or analysis of research materials or data, or the interpretation of the findings; participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content; approved the final version for submission and publication; and agreed to be accountable for the integrity of the work.

These criteria apply to all manuscripts, including normative legal research, empirical legal research, comparative law studies, and other scholarly works accepted by JICL.

2. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author serves as the primary contact with the editorial office. The corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors have approved the manuscript, agreed to its submission, and provided accurate information concerning their identities, affiliations, and contributions.

3. Order of Authors

The order of authors must be agreed upon by all authors before submission and should reflect their scholarly contributions and responsibilities. Academic position, institutional rank, supervisory status, or financial support alone does not automatically entitle an individual to authorship or determine their position in the author list.

4. Contributors Who Do Not Qualify as Authors

Individuals who provide assistance but do not meet the authorship criteria may be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent. Such assistance may include administrative support, technical assistance, language editing, or general supervision without a substantial intellectual contribution.

5. Unethical Authorship Practices

JICL does not permit ghost authorship, guest authorship, gift authorship, or the omission of individuals who meet the journal's authorship criteria. All authors must be identified transparently, and their contributions must be represented accurately.

6. Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be accompanied by a written explanation and the consent of all affected authors. Such requests are subject to editorial review. JICL may suspend processing of the manuscript while an authorship dispute is being clarified.

7. Editorial Action

Suspected violations of authorship policy will be assessed in accordance with JICL's Publication Ethics and Allegations of Research Misconduct policies. Where necessary, the journal may request clarification or supporting information from the authors or their institutions and take appropriate editorial action.
