Peer-Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Indonesian Comparative of Syari'ah Law (JICL) must comply with the journal's Focus and Scope and Author Guidelines. Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial screening to assess its suitability for the journal, originality, compliance with the submission guidelines, and adherence to publication ethics. All manuscripts are also screened for plagiarism using plagiarism detection software before being considered for peer review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subjected to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, scientific contribution, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal's scope, and compliance with ethical standards.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor may issue one of the following decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject. Authors are required to revise their manuscripts in response to the reviewers' comments before a final editorial decision is made. The Editor-in-Chief has the final authority to accept or reject a manuscript, taking into account the reviewers' recommendations and the journal's editorial policies.

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and final publication. Articles are published according to their readiness for publication and the journal's publication schedule.
